Thanks for all your feedback, I can tell you $109 for a new rear tube with wheel fitted on bike. About $65 if you bring wheel only in. That is HH dealer.

the cheapest I had on a 2007 Street Bob with Short Shots was around $50 incl. tube at a place in Osborne Park (WA) to $120 incl. tube in Heidelberg (Vic) with SE Slippons as they had to remove the muffler

Don,t they run tubeless , with a rubber strip that goes on the rim to seal the spokes ?

So, grabbed the work truck and dropped the bike at HH to get rear tube replaced, quoted $109. No rush to have it repaired I said, I've got a company car. 3 hours later I received a text msg" your bikes ready invoice total $72.80" not bad I reakon. I intend on doing most servicing myself however it was not worth buying a bike lift and removing the wheel myself, not this time anyway.

    Nice looking ride Kahuna.

I think you did quite nicely with around $73 to take the rear wheel off and replace the tube.

Cost me $50 from Adelaide Bike Works, to take the bike off the trailer, replace the front tube, clean up the mess left behind after a can of leak sealer and put the bike back on the trailer.

    I was rapt. smiley

    Cheers

I'm not that fussed over price ...

So long as the pricks do it right and I can ride away with confidence.

( have many stories about half arsed mechanical work carried out on cars )

    Okay then ...

I can easily see ( steelo ) that you're a numbers fella and quality / safety / integrity, doesn't come into play.

( insert kooky smiley face )

$35 buy itself plus the new tyre I had my wheel off

I've also had the opposite.. paid for rear tyre replacement and asked to also replace the bearings. cost excluding tyre $521.15.... forced me to pay for replacement axle they stuffed up trying to fit wrong bearings and 3.5 hours labour or could not pick up bike... cunts

I've advised heaps not to use that shop...

Fair enough, I'm south east Melbourne so I won't be going there anyway, happy with my local dealer so far, I'll be doing the oils and other easy stuff myself. Bloody tubes and tyres!
