Hi all just wonder i have a 883 Iron stage one tune and I removed the Screamin eagle slip ons and put the stock mufflers on with the baffles removed, is it ok that my exhaust headers a growing a dull red under the heat shields, or should I put the slip ons back on which it was tunes for, or is this just normal?

Sounds like it's running a whisker too hot if the pipes are glowing red. If I was me...I would not keep on riding as if it were all ok.

I just had it at idle while shutting the shed door, I'm just wondering if it's a bit lean? But the O2 sensors should sort it out I would have thoughts?

There is something wrong mate. It should not glow red.

I reckon you should get it checked

I put the Screamin eagle slip ons back on all better, must be a tuning thing.

One question. Was it dark in the shed when you looked at the pipes. In a darkened shed with the bike running I would expect the pipes to glow a little bit near the exhaust port.

Yes it was at night.. I thought it may but I read in some of these forums that it's bad, burnt valves etc.....
