Does anyone make a turbo kit for 2014 irons?

    Hey all,

I'm toying with the idea of wasting some money on turbocharging my '14 iron but have had a hell of a time trying to find some info that is an answer to a simple question, is there a company that makes turbo kits for my model iron and if so would it be worth the cost over doing a 1250 hammer kit and cams to get the extra power I'm craving? I am also curious if the 883 kit (if there is such a thing) is specific to an 883 engine or if it would be compatible with an eventual upgrade to a 1200/1250 when I win the lotto?

As always any and all wisdom is much appreciated guys and gals!!!

Would you not want to go for the 1250 kit first and then the turbo ... the 1200/1250 is a known quantity and can be done at home with some basic tools? Don't get me wrong, I would love a turbo or nitrous :) as well

Yeah I probably will go the kit first but my mate and I were having a discussion about turbos and it led me down this whole train of thought. Plus if the prices are right for a turbo and cams the 1200 kit might make it a mega death trap lol. So figured I'd ask the wise what they know of the turbo side of things, but yes the first in line will most prob be the kit (if the turbo isn't cheaper and comparable in extra grunt).

Holy shit !!! The TRASK setup is $5000 +$500 for adding an intercooler + $1000 bucks for a thundermax w 2 bar sensor.
$6500 bucks is Tripple-ish the cost of a 1200 kit!!
I'd checked the TRASK site before and didn't find the page you did. Nice work fmacdonald! Just goes to show how great this forum is. I just hope I haven't planted any expensive seeds and I apologize if that's the case fmacdonald!! Lol if I do win the lotto I'll shout you one.

Is that an enfield? I rode one of those suckers while I was in India and the stock deisel Royal Enfield I was on was sluggish as hell and had an amazing ability to break down when I was as far away from any
kind of help, parts or tools. The newer ones are supposed to be pretty cool though and run on unleaded. I visited the factory and saw how they hand build each one and all the paintwork is done by hand and
quite the amazing art! What kind of contraption is that on the side? Looks pretty steam punk cool!!

Wow! When were you in India, off topic I know, I rode a R80G/S from India to Scotland in 2000.

I was always amazed at the Royal Enfield's being fixed at the side of the road with 20 people watching but they do make it in the long run.

I think it was 2006/7 and it was an amazing experiance, as I'm sure you're aware the most important part of your bike in India is the horn ??
Was something that I've wanted to go back and do again ever since I left. Traveled from Chennai to Varanasi and back through Kerala and Cochin
as well as a bunch of other places I can't remember now as its been so long. It's amazing seeing the ingenuity that the roadside guys have and the
conditions they work with to make things happen. Pretty eye opening. Bloody dangerous riding, I only saw 2 traffic lights the whole trip

A turbo's initial cost may be more expensive than say the 1250 kit, however its a total no brainer to remove a turbo when you sell the bike and then install it on the next one.

I have an Aerocharger Turbo sitting in the shed awaiting installation on my 09 883L (when I actually get the time as the bike is my daily runner)

Once you have ridden a turbo bike you will be hooked as the power delivery makes ALL the upgrade kits you can get appear to be boring old lady driver like....lol....Nothing like a harley running 20lbs of boost to really get the blood moving.

Another thing to consider is (at least in NSW) neither the RTA nor the insurance company cared that I increased the engine from 883 to 1250 so my rego and insurance stayed the same.

All good points guys! Somethings to weigh up and consider. I need to find a turbocharged sporty to see what I'm missing.
I'm guessing that there would have to be some used turbos on the market as I'm not mega cashed up ATM and now that you've
said there's no comparison to a kit I don't wanna be an old lady rider till I'm an old man (if I make it that far with all these "excessive"
    additions to my iron horse)
