When chasing a run away battery terminal screw i found the bolt holding my earth cable has come undone. there is some sort of black box under the bike near rear wheel  What is ttttthis box & do i removve it to gain access??

The box is your alarm speaker box and backup battery. Yep check ALL your bolts EVERY year as they DO come loose. Remove if you need to.

ok thanks for that. i think i need to replace battery in that as well because alarm doesnt work if main battery disconnected. Will removing it allow access to the earth bolt?

 

cheers, i'll keep trying. Bolt has come out altogether struggling to get it back in....Would you happen to know anything about replacing back-up battery?
