Nifty Air ride for spring style solo seats by TC Bros

I'm not one that's ever been inclined to go the springed solo seat on any of my bikes over the years. I just now came across a cool little solution on eBay made by TC bros for what I don't like about the seat pan setup - the bloody springs! So having total ignorance in this department there may well be some awesomely comfortable springs out there that don't cane your arse like a D&M session (ahhh so I imagine that's what goes on there) and the whole metal on metal thing. So a while back my mate gave me a mangled wreck to use for parts after falling asleep on his bike and being woken by a tree it's a mirical that he suffered a broken leg, road rash, a bike bent at about a 45° angle and that's it  (you're a lucky fucker Jimbob - the bike ain't a HD but has a bunch of HD parts kindly donated to me as a parts/experimental Guine pig. But I digress. One part I've got on there is a springed solo seat and have never really wanted to put it on my sporty as I like the padded comfort of a perfectly good looking standard Sporty seat. After finding this little air shock I've decided to give it a go and as I've never ridden on a springed solo seat before my ignorance will be some what of a factor in my evaluation that I'll put up as soon as the little bugger arrives and I fit it with the spring set up and then the air ride version it might give anyone interested a broard idea of if it's a worthwhile option over springs. There's two mounting plates, one weld on hard tail version that's raw metal and a removable version in matt black. Here's the link

I'd love to here if anyone has had any experience with or know someone with one of these little units. The one drawback that that I see straight off the bat is that they suggest using a push bike tyre pump to inflate it which would be some what of a bitch if you were on the side of the road working on your HOG with a bicycle pump ????. I might rig up a mini mini tiny little compressor with a switch on the bars if I can in a decent time for an update on the promising looking mono unit. Thoughts? Enevitable bagging? Ideas for improvements as per air in/out? Being that it's a TC Bros bit of kit I reckon it might have some promising potential as I've seen all good kit from them so far.

Oh is he running the TC bros setup? If so what's the verdict? Am I in danger of becoming a solo seat surfer?

Walka I've looked around for what you suggested and all I came up with was the big ass clutch assist units. The only other thing that I found was an horn compressor, do you reckon this would cut the mustard?

My understanding is that you'd be able to adjust the TC units like a tire add just enough air till you find a sweet spot that acts like a cushion depending if you had more or less air in there. My understanding is that the TC mounts are just empty rubber bags. I'd be keen to check out your setup if you have any info on what site sells em and or has a write up or description on em. Might be a better option if you've tried both and opted for the latter. Thanks for the heads up.

    Hi
When is that air bag turning up ? It will take bugger all air, a bicycle pump will be plenty, or a pump that FLH's use to pump up their rear shockies would do, it has a gauge on it.

Cheers Doug that solves the mini compressor issue till I can find something that will be close enough to what I've got pictured in my head. I'm still waiting on them it's been a while and I'm still waiting on a few other items to arrive that have been in the mail for ages. Will post a report as soon as they arrive and maybe a mounting write up.  Stay tuned.....
