Anybody using a detachable rider backrest on their fatty. In the market, and interested in what people use. Dont want brackets sticking up when not in use, just for long hikes. Cant see anything in Harley's range for the Late Softails.

Been using one couple of years now and swear by them. Good back support. Can be totally removed from bike with velcro flap covering insert, but mines on permenantly. Made by Mustang USA to suit their seat. This seat is a Vintage Solo I think. Bike is a Night Train '09.

That looks very comfy, mate, but I don't necessarily want to fork out for a complete seat. There seem to be very limited options around apart from an American mob named Grasshopper Limited who market a virtually non -adjustable item. I'm waiting for a reply from another Yank firm that advertise on Amazon, which is a fully adjustable, foldable version. it's a matter of whether they ship to Oz and whether it's worth while cost wise.

Hey Winger, Corbin do a similar set up that sounds like what your after but costs more.

I've been researching similar for mine but I am going with a Mustang with backrest. Can't decide between the Vintage Solo or the Wide Tripper. I'm keen on the Mustang over Corbin as I can fit a particular rack on the rear fender with the Mustang. Both get great write-ups.
