Hey guys i know brakes have been coverd alot but i have a few specific questions

    i have a 2012 iron with a 1250 kit and im running a Xr1200 brake

Im swaping to a 21" spoked wheel (i know this will have less performance) and the XR brake wont fit

im trying to find a good brake that will work with the 21" spokes with power

Im down to a performance machine that will fit but i think i maye have to change the master cylinder

or a VROD brake with a new disc

just unsure what the size master cylinder the irons come with stock, 1/2"?

    thanks for any help

sorry for late post, i've ran 21" front wheels with twin front brakes, i'm thinking all you need is to lace 21" rim to a twin disc hub, your bike should have the twin calliper mounts on fork legs now, or of you are useing a mag wheel get a machinist to mount your other disc & just keep running the XR1200 brake set up with the new twin disc's

Not sure if anyone was following this post but ill update anyway.

I have and 883 with a 1250cc kit fitted and tuned by AA Customs, so obviously needed a better brake and was using a XR1200 brake that i loved.

Then i decided i wanted a 21" spoked wheel and the XR brake wouldnt fit and had to put the stock front brake back on. Oh man then you realise how bad the stock one is! like using a sponge to stop. SO BAD!!

Anyway lots of recerch and hoping for the best i bought a used  Vrod caliper and a new 11.8" disc, I fit and bleed the system and its stopping far better. It dosent have as solid leaver feel as the XR brake, but it shits on the stock one.

Im not sure on the spacing but it could be a good option for 48 front ends?

    Soked!
