Question for the guys who have owned them , is there any difference to the handling between the road king street glide and road glide .. Especielly the rOAD kING   ,, thinking about a tourer like the rk but the others seem very popular at the moment . and a harley is not just a harley , I've owned a street bob and now own a low rider , loved them both , but  rode a mates softail standard , and could'nt get of it quick enough hated it

Can,t comment on handling , but 1 main difference is no music on RK  ( unless some CVO,s ) . Detachable screen for RK attracts buyers too .

I like the protection from wind and rain that the fairing provides, and the music. The road glide also provides some storage space in the fairing which is handy. For me it was a matter of street or road glide. I test rode a street glide but it was difficult to get on a road glide for testing. I read a heap of discussions on the yank forums about Street glide or/vs road glide and read literally hundreds of opinions, many from blokes who'd owned both. Rather than rehash some of that, you could have a look.

At least dealers now have road glides avail for test riding - they didn't when I got mine. Try and ride each of these models.

My decision was made easy for me - I got a bargain from a private sale with a bike with 1,000kms and over two years of factory warranty left (warranty was extended when it was purchased new)

    Good luck/fun with your decision

Don't disregard the ultra either. The top box and lower fairings can be removed if necessary and made to be quick detachable. They then become more like a street glide and can be good value for money

    I have owned a 09 Road KIng, a 09 Ultra Classic, a 14 Street glide, and now ride a 15 Street Glide.

The Street glide is the pick of the crop, I love the look, the sounds, and the protection from the fairing.

Street Glide , seems to get the nod ,, is it because of the weather protection or is there a difference in Handling comfort ect . especielly over the road king ,,,

Steering is light as on the road glide thanks to the frame mounted fairing. Everyone's different in terms of height, riding position etc so it can take a few changes to get any (touring) bike right in terms of wind buffet and comfort. I think the road glide is potentially the hardest to get the wind buffet corrected due to the fairing being further forward and the oem screen being really low (at least this was my experience with the pre-rushmore Road Glide). I changed the screen, handlebars and added fairing lowers and wind deflectors to my Road Glide to get it right for me. I've since changed the seat and now need a slightly higher screen. The right screen isn't just about looks or comfort but affects how well you can hear the stereo. I liked the idea of the road glide being a bit different from the norm - you never see them around.

Streety for me now. Music, GPS and a bit better wind/weather protection. Had a 10 RK before the streety. Loved the classic look of the RK and with the screen and wind deflectors they give you near on as good a protection and you can take it off. Handling was great but the new Rushmores have a better front end(that could still do with some work). Best advise is take them all for a ride.
