It would seem, after using the 'search function', that this question hasn't been asked for a while.

I'm keen to buy something of good quality ... with armour and ideally - with very very little branding and without a kaleidoscope of colours.

    ( Black is best. )

Has anyone bought something that may tick all / most of my boxes and has been happy with their choice ?

    Ta.

P.S. Money is not important; have always been a subsciber to the philosophy of ... 'but right, buy once'.

    G'day,

I bought an Aldi one. Comfortable, reasonably thick with amour in the elbows and back. It has a removable liner and 4 outside and 1 inside pocket. From memory these have been discussed before on this forum. You  will need to try them on, the sizing is a bit out. Mine is a XL and I am 5"10" and 77 kgs. Generally not a XL size in anything. cool

They will probably be coming into the stores soon, usually at the start of Winter.

My favourite so far has to be Dainese. Fit well, feel good and even work when having an off... Don't exactly fit the look you are after though.

Had an Rjays, didn't fit well, and zippers broke after a few years.

Now I currently have 2 Genuine Harley jackets. 1 fits so well and is fairly subdued in looks. Was a limited edition for whatever reason?? I love it.

The other is winter weight and water proof with removable layers and venting, doesn't fit well but works for all intended purposes. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/evolution-waterproof-leather-jacket

Unfortunately, It seems very few of what we may find on-line, is imported into Oz.

I'm not against buying 'unseen / unworn / untried' ... but, will try to cover all bases / do my 'due diligence'.

    Hence the enquiry HERE.

In doing the search thing HERE, I found the HD Leather Jackets ( Chinese made ) to be found wanting, re: quality.

Speedy, I have an M2R which is plain black, removable liner, comes with armor (removable) and is very comfy now it's a couple of years old. I've been happy with it.
I also have an RSD jacket that is similar to driz-a-bone material that is very comfy with armor but only good for summer/autumn/spring riding.
    Cheers.

    Speedy,

Check out Revzilla.com for a range of jackets and brands that you don't normally see around Oz. Some good options, plenty of which could also be imported. I love Dainese but they only offer a few pure black options and tend to be a bit more fitted; class leading quality. I like my HD jacket and don't have any complaints on quality. Rather versatile infact with the triple venting, waterproof, removable liner but fails your branding test and as flagged, sizing is slightly off.

Otherwise, check out Tiger Angel based out of Melbourne. They do custom made and make a very good quality jacket.

I've had Dainese/HD/Tiger Angel and would recommend all, pending what your looking for.

    Yes ... Thanks JFE.

I've checked 'Revzilla' and the Scorpion 1909 jacket, is currently on top.

I have a leather jacket by Ravena in Auckland (closed down years ago). Its thick and has protected be for 30 years of riding - including crashes.

Invest in a good quality brand jacket and stay well away from any imported China rubbish - look for good quality thick leather if going down that route.
