My apologies Gentlemen ... moved out to the peaceful and quite country side a year ago , only downside is no landline Internet connection so only have phone data access and only get online about once a week hence the delay in a response .

Hilly ... you are correct my Cams are 585`s ... don`t know why I typed in 565 .

Tussuck ... didn`t go massive on the Throttle body , went with the 50 mil Screaming Eagle ... standard Harley body is 48 mil if I have remembered correctly .

Lushy , Ando and other Gents ... Forgive my novice inquiries just trying to learn from the more knowledgeable gents here ... Have heard good things about Hoody Heads so am interested to hear your thoughts ... I still have my stock heads , are these a base that Hoody or another engineer would start with and do you or anyone else for that matter know a ballpark figure to get said Heads ported and worked on to match the 106 S & S barrels and pistons and SE Throttle Body and was it the 266SE Cams you thought might work better or would you recommend another .

Compression by the way is a touch over 10.5 to 1 and torque was 106 ... can the Head work be done with out the rest of the motor or would it be more beneficial more the engineer to have the whole bike .

I realise a lot of these decisions depends on how one rides and what the bike is going to be generally used for ... I very recently had the Andrews EV3 taken out of my other ride ... 99 Springer ... and had a Andrews EV13 installed ... I found the EV3 wasn't coming on until a fair way up the rev range when in higher gears and now the 13 comes in way sooner ... loose a little up top but it is worth it for the fun of down low grunt especially out of corners and over taking traffic .

I probably should mention both my 99 and 08 I have had geared up by 2 teeth from standard ... have always preferred the slightly higher cruising speeds of the higher gearing and as well I am a tad larger than most ... 155 Kg`s ... another reason I went for the EV13 on the Springer ... to give the poor old girl a chance of lugging me along compared to the EV3 .

Anyhow always interested to hear others thoughts , Cheers .

    Tim .

Good Job Ando! just try to get bulk Torque!! i can never notice HP like i can Torque!

TB size .... intake valve size will determin that!!! think of it like a 6 lane highway turning into a 2 lane road just before you get to the business end of the motor!!

Good Ando!! i went for the most HP but my track time quarter mile did not get quicker as 60 foot time no better but trap speed would be faster with more HP. then went for dyno tune that got the HP & TQ to come in the quickest timed say 3 or 4 seconds WOT see what tune got the most power & torque the quickest!! that was the key my times went down. but still have to ride & shift quick! no mistakes but getting a tune that could give you the most HP & TQ the quickest worked at the track for me. on a street bike. race bikes are different. street bikes are hard to go quick on!!! but you know your self Ando building a motor to show good HP on a dyno is great, but being able to build & tune a motor that does a quick time on the standing quarter is better!! good luck with it.

Very impressive on the HP, I recently put a 585 cam in my 110 and had all sorts of problems with tuning, she has a SE tuner High output muffs and pipes but otherwise standard..

I went to Anthony at Maztech who has tuned her prior to the cam and his tuning produced 112.8 HP with 128.8 ftlb of torque...The difference is awesome and she is as smoothe as silk, but 131.8 HP on a light bike is some very serious power....

I go through back tyres too quickly as it is...laugh

ok fair enough, I didn't know it was a CVO.

I don't really know the specs of the CVO heads, I think they have pretty big valves that some say are too big for anything under say 117 but I have no experience with them myself.

That graph doesn't seem right to me. I thought TQ and HP lines always crossed at 5252 rpm.

The scales for hp and torque on both y axes are scaled differently to what we are used to seeing which might explain it

I was disapointed with the 266e cam until I learnt. When crusing at 100km and you really want to launch. You need to remeber the 3 clicks. Pull in the clutch tap the gear shift 3 times(thats the 3 clicks) and as you let the clutch out turn the throttle all the way around. Gos like fuck then.

Yeah that's the idea Robots ... was chatting to Ando , great bloke by the way ... yeah anyhow the idea is to have some work done to my standard heads ... have the manual comp release machined in ... and probably change up the cams ... have already started to get prices on Bassani Rode Rage 2 into 1 pipes ... and of course look at going bigger in the throttle body .

Just have to get some dollars together and also see if I can get a fair price for my S & S 79 cc Heads and 50 mil Screaming Eagle Throttle body ... they will only sit on the shelf other wise but don`t want to give them away ... any ideas what a fair price for said items from the helpful people on this site .

The other big decision I have to make is to decide if to go down that Track or be satisfied with what I have already ... as Ando was saying , for the actual combo I have a 100 Hp is about the right area ... maybe a bit more with the Bassani`s which is the first step I think .

I have had my 08 for 4 years now and my 99 Springer for 3 years ... I have been getting a real hankering for a Street or Road Glide of late so it might seem a little crazy to go Big on my 08 if I decide to change my bike ... but I have never been accused of doing things the sensible way , Lol ... own all 3 Bikes I hear people saying ... has crossed my mind , Lol .

Gidday again folks ... just a curiosity question for any helpful folks out there ... got a price on a set of 2 into 1 Chrome Bassani Road Rage , Short Megaphone pipes up here in Qld ... they want 1,100.00 ... seems a tad high ... any thoughts .

Have checked with M & M Cycles out of Ohio and they have them for 623 US dollars ... checking at the moment about shipping cost but it works out at about 860 aussie dollars before shipping ... so will see what that comes back at .

Would rather buy local but depends on how much cheaper they are after all cost combined .

Any one know of better prices here in Oz .
