First post gents, I have introduced myself in new members but new to this sort of deal.

I gave my WG a good clean last night whilst listening to some Bob Marley in the shed, at the time it seemed like a good idea to remove the tank to get everything shiny. ??

After undoing the tank bolts it dawned on me that there was fuel in the tank.  I wasn't in a fit state to siphon it out and I didn't have enough vice grips to pinch the fuel hose's, so I decided to give it a little lift and get my rag in there to clean the chrome heads.  

All good, got it shiny. When I sat he tank back into position a small part fell out from under the tank and it's got me knackered where it came from!  It is black plastic with a serrated edge, photo below.

If anyone can tell me what it is and where it goes it will be much appreciated?

I know fuck all about wide glides and fuck all about where that washer goes, for sure anyway. My memory recalls one of them being called a toothed (rubber?) washer and I seem to remember seeing something similar on a set of forks once.

I'd re-look over everything you did. Maybe if one fell out there's another one attached to a bolt still in?

Thanks Bonkerz, I searched and re traced my steps but fucked if I can find where it came from. I will have another gander tomorrow morning.

Shit hot, thanks Ando. Got it sorted this arvo, seems fairly obvious to me now but had me fucked, blended in a bit with the frame, well that's my excuse. I will know for next time. Joining your forum has paid off already, cheers mate.
