hi guys, i have only just realised my v&h big radius 2 into 2 have baffles in them. the bike has a v&h air cleaner and a screamin eagle super tuner. 3 questions - if i take the baffles out, will the bike need a new tune. secondly, will i lose power low range or mid range and thirdly is this bad for the motor to run straight pipes?

    thanks in advance.

You will loose power, The Bike will run way to lean and you will damage the engine with out a tune

And all your friends and neighbors will hate you for the noise that your bike will make without baffles (V&H have a lot to answer for!)

You would have to be the first person I've seen on this forum that wants his vh to be louder it's normally quieter lol seeing there obnoxiously loud anyway

There are 2 types of baffles for V&H. The quite ones that are large and take up 50% of the pipe and the ones that hug the outside of the pipes and look like cheese greater. If they are the cheese greater ones I wouldn't touch them as what Walka states is true. if they are the other then get the cheese greater ones, trust me you wont need them any louder

For what it's worth I removed the cheese grater baffles from my V&H 2 into 1 comp series pipes on my XG 500 - it was ridiculously and obnoxiously loud. I put them straight back in. That's coming from a bloke that has run many V8s with 3" pipes and no mufflers only hot dogs.
