Interested to see if any other FATBOB owners have played around with the height setting for the rear shock and what difference it made? What conditions suit what settings, carrying the missus / hard riding etc
Have done 11000ks on my Fatbob replaced original shocks last week with progressive 412 h/d, originals will be going back on found them too stiff even 2up Steelcat 41
Hey there,
Know this is an old post although am curious. When adjusting the shocks does it bring the arse down at all? I'm looking at trying to lower the tail by an inch or so.
Cheers,
Matt
Have had our Fatbob for 18 months and 16,000km. Setting 3 for one-up and occasional two-up. Setting 4 for longer rides two-up and setting 5 for overnight trips with two-up and a largish bag on the back. Be warned: if you come across a sizable dip mid corner, you will scrape your lower exhaust pipe, especially at a softer shock setting.
My changes: Rush 1.5 inch slash down slip ons; K&N filter (no mod to aircleaner cover); had HD service lock out the exhaust valve (done electronically through the onboard computer); XIED's (in-line resisters to fool computer that engine is running lean, computer adds more fuel to compensate and engine runs cooler); Headlight mod to have both on for high beam; Tribar LED taillight; Sissy bar (with high mount tail/stop light) and carrier; Chrome trim on tank.
Merry Christmas, Colin.
have mine set on 2 for me... just over 100Kg's..... & 4 with SWMBO on the back....we have bottomed out once so it seems to be the right setting.....
BTW if anyone wants an adjustment tool... I am looking at getting some cut at Lasermade.... a local laser cutting factory..... alloy or mild steel from memory......interested ????????
