Interested to see if any other FATBOB owners have played around with the height setting for the rear shock and what difference it made?  What conditions suit what settings, carrying the missus / hard riding etc

Mine are still on position 2, thats how it was when I picked it up. I only ride 1 up so have no need to change it, but would be good to see what others are doing.

TC, I got my RUSH slips ons from M&M (https://www.mandmcycles.com/homepage.htm) in the USA. US$255 + $80 freight. I was lucky with the exchange rate and got em at .93. Good service from M&M - Mark, shipped within the week. Big Joe fitted them and added one of his Butterfly exhaust actuator eliminators. Sounds great now (not too loud) and rides / breaths 100% better too. The difference with the breathing with 1st and 2nd gear was hard to believe. Well worth the effort. The SE slips ons don't make much difference in relation to noise.

TC, one of the reasons I chose the RUSH slip ons was the fact that they look exactly like the stock exhaust. You couldn't pick the difference unless you looked up the pipe

With some advice from Darkash69 on the Maitland trip yesterday, finally played around with those shocks. Darkash69 usually runs his on four but had just moved to five, so I jumped from three to five, and picked the right road for it too! Handles ten times better, but watch out for the bumps or your bruised kidneys. Settled on four for the trip home and will leave it there unless I know I hitting some nice road (which in NSW is few and far between)

     Hey there,

Know this is an old post although am curious. When adjusting the shocks does it bring the arse down at all? I'm looking at trying to lower the tail by an inch or so.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Have had our Fatbob for 18 months and 16,000km. Setting 3 for one-up and occasional two-up. Setting 4 for longer rides two-up and setting 5 for overnight trips with two-up and a largish bag on the back. Be warned: if you come across a sizable dip mid corner, you will scrape your lower exhaust pipe, especially at a softer shock setting.

My changes: Rush 1.5 inch slash down slip ons; K&N filter (no mod to aircleaner cover); had HD service lock out the exhaust valve (done electronically through the onboard computer); XIED's (in-line resisters to fool computer that engine is running lean, computer adds more fuel to compensate and engine runs cooler); Headlight mod to have both on for high beam; Tribar LED taillight; Sissy bar (with high mount tail/stop light) and carrier; Chrome trim on tank.

    Merry Christmas, Colin.
