I have a 1918 Harley K model. I have searched different Harley data books but cannot find any reference to it. Can anybody shed some light? Is it supposed to be a generator or magneto model?

Why dontcha post up a picture of your 1918 K model?

That way we can all come round to your place and steal it.

It is considered good manners to introduce ones self first on this forum too. Not really sure why as most people don't seem to use their birth names, but it is.

    Perhaps you mean J model?

Thanks guys but it definitely a K model. Engine no is year first 18 then engine no then K at the end. I have a 1918 handbook and it lists "J" "C" & "E" models but no "K".

What sort of engine is it? V-twin, horizontal twin, single?...

Engine is V-twin. Everything appears same as a "J" model but is stamped "K". To compare it would be like a WLA, WLC or W. which are just variants eg mudguard skirts & lighting.

1918 "K" model Harley query solved. The new Ozbike magazine No 406 has a 1915 "K" model. Then with more web searching found that Harley factory sold stripped down bikes for Board track racing and they were "K" models. Apparently someone had fitted the 1918 "K" engine at some stage to the 1918 bike I have. Now the dilemma, to do back to a board track racer or keep it as the restored "road" bike.
