More a general motorcycle movie, but it does have Harleys and is a must watch. 'Why We Ride'. See it if you haven't.

As Smokey mentioned "why we ride," which I've seen before. From memory I think someone had posted a link for it in another similar thread somewhere on this site. A couple movie titles you might be interested in are "Easy rider", or "Stone".  I think I may have Easy Rider on DVD, but I haven't seen "Stone" yet.

Haven't seen Stone yet ... The Motorcycle Movie Gods will be rolling in their graves , Lol ... Depending on how old you are Stone is a must see Aussie Motorcycle flick ... just remember it was made in the 70`s so get ready for some funny old language ... far better than a lot of those USA Harley flicks from the same era .

Without giving to much away there is a certain scene in the movie that revolves around the central character ... a undercover cop called Stone racing a club member ... the club member on a Z900 Kawasaki and the cop on his bike ... when I first saw this movie I was myself a older teenager new to bikes in the 70`s and I thought the cops bike was a postie bike due to its colour and the gear that the cop was wearing and I thought what a load of shit how can this postie bike keep up with a Z9 ... it wasn`t until my older riding friends at the time informed me it was in fact a Norton that it made a little more sense .

Anyhow get yourself a copy and enjoy a little of what freedom in the 70`s in Australia was like .

Re: 'Stone' - the Australian movie ..... the race sequence was in Neutral Bay, Sydney. Around Primrose Park / Bent Street; a well known and well used 'raceway'.

watched Easy Rider for first time this week, always wanted to see it - a bit underwhelmed, its so old & daggy. Scenery was speccy.
Interested to see Toni Basil (Mickey) in it, she was a cutey. I then googled here & she's now in her 70's.
Makes me feel really old now.

i think you must have to be on acid or something for easyrider to be good, i thought it was crap...

Although not strictly a Harley flick (but they do feature in them), On Any Sunday is a favourite of mine, also On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter....

Loved Easyrider and seen it many times including at the movies back in 1970.
The whole thing was adlib and made on a shoestring budget. And yes, the cast and crew were stoned most of the time.
In regards to the scenery, it was filmed like that for a reason.
Stone was great as well, but maybe not to the crowd that have been used to Spectaculars for the last 20 years.

Otherwise, the El Diablo Runs and the Gypsy Runs etc are worth watching on Utube.

    My picks are:

the Wild One. Brando was OK but Lee Marvin was great!

Easy Rider up until they get to New Orleans

    On Any Sunday

Mask - I haven't seen it since I saw it at the pictures in 1985 but I've just ordered it on DVD

Stone - An Aussie classic! I lived in Balmain for about 5 years just near where the pub scenes were filmed. It's now used as an office. The original Banditos "City" clubhouse was not too far from there although apparently, local Hell's angels played the part of the Black Hawks (rival club) in the movie.

Another Aussie one that I havn't seen yet is the Marriage of Figaro. I knew a few of the crew involved from a few years ago (so I'm told - I don't remember) as well as the house where some of it was filmed. Not exactly a bike film but he does ride a HD.

I know there's more but that's all I can think of at the moment - better get back to work....
