Week or so ago I bought my first HD, so its been a steep learning curve.
Anyway I discovered my lowbeam stopped working but hibeam was ok....globe.
Turns out replacing the globe on these bullet style headlamps can be more difficult than youtube makes out. Unfortunatley I didnt take any photo's but ill do my best to describe......
This is similar to whats fitted on my bike: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/bullet-headlamp-kit
Outer housing, infront of lense is a trim ring, behind this is another ring. The main issue is removing the trim ring which unscrews counter clockwise, mine wasnt budging no matter how much pressure I applied. I tried heating the outer housing using a hair dryer until it was quite hot... didnt budge, tried using gloves for better grip, didnt budge. So i soaked it overnight with wd40 and went out and bought some double sided tape, put a couple of bits on the ring and with a pair of gloves and ALLOT of pressure I managed to break the seal and screw it off. There was a fair bit of dirt underneath which was probably making it so difficult to remove.
Next time I do a globe ill take a vid in case it helps someone else.....
