Now I'm a little early for winter, but my Autumn plans are,, in the next week I'm having a play in the primary ... Tore a chunk out of the rotor cover,, scary sight seeing bits of steel pieces in the primary ... Anyway, while I'm in there, replacing the compensator,, new clutch plates ,, primary tensioner assembly,, couple of seals,, and inner primary bearing ... When its all buttoned up,,, for winter,, as Mickle said,, ride the fucking thing ......

Im riding 6 days a week now. Winter might slow me down to 4 days a week. Will do a rear tire and pull primary cover off to inspect intermittent noise out of compensator. Other than that the cash flow says Fuel is all I get. Unless of course something breaks then I will sell the Mrs dishwasher to fix it. Ride Hard and Be Safe all you blokes.

G'day Jersey,, Yes mate, going with the SE comp kit , 40100061 .. ( Which is really our only option ),,, This comp kit is for 2007 - 2010 ,, which includes the latest version , plus a new style rotor, that is required for my 2009 bike, (and your 2007 bike), to accommodate the new comp ... Actually the comp was not playing up,, saw some metal pieces through the derby cover when I was changing primary oil ,, thought I'd better have a look ,, so took primary cover off ,, and fuck me dead,, found 2x strips on metal lodged under the tensioner assembly,, The rotor cover area, (which the comp springs are in), had been striped away.. The opinion is, that the springs moving in and out over time, start hitting the cover , and the end result is a striped rotor... I was going to just replace the original rotor cover ,( as everything else looked ok), but I thought I'd upgrade to the latest and greatest ... If you wait until dealers have their 20% discount days, you may get the above comp kit for around the $480 - 500 mark !! Unfortunately I could'nt wait !!!!

This is a thread regarding winter projects members may be doing etc ,,,, I thought I would contribute my little bit,,,, But low and behold the three Amigos ,, Tim SG ,, China,, and Mickle, in there wisdom have graced us with there much appreciated, and experienced comments, regarding my project, ( upgrading components in the primary area of my ride) ..... Having had the pleasure of meeting and riding with these extremely experienced and knowledgeable riders ,, (and together, the three Amigs would have a least 75 years combined knowledge of all things Harley, at a minimum ),, I will take on board very seriously your valued and and well thought out comments and advice ......

I don't ride too much in winter as it's often too cold where I am and I'm often time-poor too. But I try to get out on a sunny day when the temp gets above 10 in the middle of winter.

I've been researching audio options for my bike, mostly on the yank forums. I'm gonna get a new head deck with usb, Bluetooth, Bette sound quality etc and plug it in via a biketronics retro fitment kit which allows you to maintain harley oem handlebar controls.
I'm still looking at options but ideally want a jvc marine unit that is water proof. Probably gonna get an arc audio 600.4 amp that can be bridged to power 300w over two channels. Tossing up between biketronics 7.1 pro speakers or the arc audio 602 speakers. Both speakers get great reviews as does the amp.
