winter upgrade - cams or kit

Looking for a bit more torque from my 96CI 2011 FXDC. So far only did pipes (2:1 Supertrapp), cleaner and TTS mastertune. (and Chrome of course, and shocks, and handlebar and seat, and forks- all the stuff the Moco should have done for starters)

Figure I need at least some cams to wake her up a bit more but do understand that maybe a couple of CI's and maybe some compression would be needed as well.

So question is - do I go with a bolt-in cam like a 254 or 204 and leave it at that OR do I get  103 stage kit OR go with somethink like a S&S kit (OR maybe something else??)

as said I'm after torque at low revs - don't like to rev much above 5500 and value rideability. Also want it reliable and not running extremely hot when I sit in traffic

Long time ago I had a '96 EVO FXD with a mikuni and EV27 - I liked that combination (but not the overall power)...

any ideas?? Will have a dealer (or aftermarket mechanic) install it - never got used to these chains in the camchest and all the funky tools you need for that....

    thnx

Hi. Depends on your budget and expectations. If you want a nice bump in torque from early to mid for a 96ci engine, it'd be hard to beat the Andrews 48h. The se204 will come on a bit later but is also a good midrange cam. You've already got a decent exhaust, air cleaner and tuning module. No need to increase compression. Cam change and a good dyno tune makes a good difference
