Can someone give me the good oil on what 'compression lock up' is and how it occurs? 

Thanks for that.  I did something similar the other day, dropped it a couple down, but wasn't moving at the speed you were, but I have a sense of what you must have felt, without the friggin truck on my tail though!  One to watch. 

yep as stated above, I have done it a few times when trying to slow down too fast, makes ya catch ya breath, come with experience I guess, the more ya ride & get accustomed to the bike the less ya do it.
