Hey team, bought some Hagon 2810 shocks off Sportytrace for the Nightster. Might look at fitting em on Thursday, any hints I might need before doing so???????

Also need to work out the right settings for em, have sent the suppier an e-mail asking for advice on set up, preload & such.

Any thing I should watch out for or should it all be plain sailing........... TIA

    Hey Toxic,
Further on RTs note on short shocks... Those shocks have around 45mm of travel to the bump stop so when setting your rider sag you'll be looking for around one-third of that.
    Cheers

I recently put low shocks on my Dyna - my auto mechanic mate said not to worry too much about exact torquing - just to use Red Loctite and do them to the industry standard : FT (for f'n tight...!). They haven't fallen off so far!

If u are lowering the Sporty, also worth checking under the rear guard for things that might get hit by the tyre bottoming out, eg. inside of tail light, & wires to the indicators. I have a 180mm rear so with 11" shocks it was a tight squeeze, to be on the safe side I made meself some plastic rectangular inserts to cover the wiring. Mounted flush to inside of guard with the indicator bolt, that way the tyre will only rub against the plastic instead of the wiring.

    cheers, Sime

Thanks Trace for the heads up, do you know why the white spacers are fitted ??????? was it to reduce the compressed length ?????

Simo these are slightly longer than stock, the old nightster certainly don't need to be lowered.

Also Trace could ya let me know who ya got em through, Pm me if ya like to keep it under ya hat.

Still haven't had a chance to fit em, maybe 2morrow arvo if I can get an hour to me self.

    Thanks all.

OK fitted the new Hagon shocks today, wow wot a differance, made the rough ride heaps smoother

Below is the comparison between OE on the right & Hagon on left

    No shock

    New shock

All in all well worth the effort

Thanks Trace, Yes will do the white bits black when I get to it.

YAY! Pleased they've turned out well for you Toxic!

I saw that they've changed the shocks from 08 to 09 for the Nightsters in Oz. They are now coming in the Euro format with the Black 13" Roadster shocks and the longer chrome kickstand as standard rather than the low 11" US shock and short black kickstand.
