Corrosion on forks - brand new bike???

Just wanted to throw it out there and see if others have had premature corrosion issues with thier near new bikes. While washing the FXDWG yesterday after a ride I noticed some corrosion on the fork legs. The bike is only 3 months old with 1300km on it - allways washed, dried covered and garaged?? I have emailed the dealer and will get up there when I can to see what they can do for me. Looks like the fork legs are painted in clear so I cant just polish it out with autosol or similar.

    Cheers

    Dan

That looks like Alloy corrosion that all Harley's tend to get on the front forks over time. I an surprised that its happened so soon on a new bike so would be thinking that there is something not quite right there. If your still under warranty then take it back and ask for them to be swapped out with new clean ones. Its only going o get way way worse now that the rot has started.

Just heard back from the dealer. They have said that they have ordered new parts and will replace. Stoked.

That's a good outcome SRV72. Mine has just has its 3rd birthday and doesn't have anywhere near as much as what yours has got.

I would also be double checking the engine cases for the same.

Had the fork legs, seals and oil changed today free of charge under warranty. No issues at all from the dealer. I'm pretty happy with that. Dissapointing that there was corrosion so early but great service from Nerang HD.

Yesterday, was chewin' the fat with a proud owner of a 96 Fattie, in a beautiful pearlescent ( ? ) white.

    It was a gem !

Except ... alloy corrosion on the lower forks.

    Is this the norm ?
