I don't know anything about the Independant riders group or Mr Codognotto, but he's been coping some shit on Face Book.

A rider's group wants riders to be fined? (100% support?) I agree that thongs are not a good idea on a bike, but isn't that your choice and risk to take?

IMHO... Giving credit were credit is due. Spook said it best in this forum.

And no gloves, what is he thinking

Thongs, I will not wear on the bike, but I often wear shorts and a tee shirt, even a singlet

I am not interested in the you must shit, there is to much of it already, I can have these friends, I can't employ that person, he can't work there, I can travel in two's but 3 will get you arrested.

    Fucking politicians and doogooders.

I think full coverage should be mandatory wile on L and P plates, after that, do as you will.

I'll never wear shorts, burnt my leg 1 to many times. I often ride in a t'shirt and leather vest, for the most part I choose to wear a leather jacket and kevlar pant.

    Why?

It hurts when you come off!! Broken bones or bruises are going to happen, road rash can be prevented. Still wearing an open face helmet though....

Damien pokes his head up every to offer a bit of 'wisdom' like this. Likes the attention, and there is always a willing media outlet and some sort of (usually) tax payer funded body that joins in. There is a real risk this sort of crap will change laws that end up with everyone wearing Fluro for the final few years before bikes get banned outright in the nanny state. And then muppets behind that sorta idea will be stunned to silence when people still die on the roads.

I too was a MRA member in Townsville and enjoyed the comradery and raising $ for charities but we never got into telling other riders how to live their lives. I'm also a believer in ATGATT. I am. But I will be damned before I start telling others riders what to wear. Your choice.

If you want to start of reducing the road toll why not look at the Vic governments stupid fascination with speed cameras? Too hooked on the revenue I suppose. Have it spent before its earns, sorta hooked. Coming out of Melbourne up the Hume on 2 January this year I was amazed how bumper-to-bumper it all was when travelling in the zone with the average speed cameras -- people were too scared to do anything over the speed limit so blocked up for km's until the cameras disappeared, then evened out nicely. All this occurred at 110 km/hr in the name of safety? Government-enforced stupidity. Didn't see one copper, mind you -- the more cops you see, generally the more behaved people are but they cost $. How about funding some decent Driver Reviver sites so people are encouraged to take a break ... Oh that's right -- that would cost, rather than make, the state revenue. How about subsiding decent rider and driver training?

    Bah, rant over.

This comment had me thinking now there's a new kind of snail trail.
Even worse are the total tools who let their hot little squeeze climb on the back in a microskirt.... great to look at. Horrible to contemplate....

Codognotto is a boil on the arse of motorcycling. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on. Let those who ride decide. Wear whatever the fuck you like.

Hurts like shit when you fall off a pushbike only doing max 30km/h ......personal choice i really don't give two fucks what other riders wear. The HWY patrol motorcycle coppers don't wear much gear so why should anyone else.

Personaly ,, Years ago i used to ride in jeans and singlets , open face sunny glasses , looking at myself in the shop windows , going.... Yeah , Fuck i look cool .... came off 40 years ago on a trail bike and lost skin ,cracked some ribs , but i told myself , yeah that was the trail and i was being stupid ,, Nowadays i'm older , fatter and uglier , so no point trying to look cool , i also know i don't bounce lhas well has i used to so for me its ATGATT ..... nOW I DON'T WANT TO BE A WOOS but i i do think its silly not to wear it ,, BUT people should be able to make there own choices , and if they want to ride in thongs and t shirts , fair enough its there choice , ..... BUT why should we pay ,, basicly i think let people do has they want freedom of choice and all that , but if they fuck up and need 100 grands worth of medical bills paid , let them who choose to disregard safety pay a bigger premium in there tax , if there not working take 10 bucks a week off there dole .... sort of a user pays system

Damien Cognitto actually doesn't even ride. I don't know who he claims to represent but as a tram user he can only represent them not motorcyclists. The man is an arse.

He turned up at the St Kida parking protest on the 21 of Feb by tram. He does not ride anymore.

Message him at his IRG group and ask.
