I don't know anything about the Independant riders group or Mr Codognotto, but he's been coping some shit on Face Book.
A rider's group wants riders to be fined? (100% support?) I agree that thongs are not a good idea on a bike, but isn't that your choice and risk to take?
IMHO... Giving credit were credit is due. Spook said it best in this forum.
"You can't protect dickheads against themselves!"
Fuck off my bike my rules Useley only ride in thongs and singlet after beers I have never rode in a burku bloodog
Damien pokes his head up every to offer a bit of 'wisdom' like this. Likes the attention, and there is always a willing media outlet and some sort of (usually) tax payer funded body that joins in. There is a real risk this sort of crap will change laws that end up with everyone wearing Fluro for the final few years before bikes get banned outright in the nanny state. And then muppets behind that sorta idea will be stunned to silence when people still die on the roads. I too was a MRA member in Townsville and enjoyed the comradery and raising $ for charities but we never got into telling other riders how to live their lives. I'm also a believer in ATGATT. I am. But I will be damned before I start telling others riders what to wear. Your choice. If you want to start of reducing the road toll why not look at the Vic governments stupid fascination with speed cameras? Too hooked on the revenue I suppose. Have it spent before its earns, sorta hooked. Coming out of Melbourne up the Hume on 2 January this year I was amazed how bumper-to-bumper it all was when travelling in the zone with the average speed cameras -- people were too scared to do anything over the speed limit so blocked up for km's until the cameras disappeared, then evened out nicely. All this occurred at 110 km/hr in the name of safety? Government-enforced stupidity. Didn't see one copper, mind you -- the more cops you see, generally the more behaved people are but they cost $. How about funding some decent Driver Reviver sites so people are encouraged to take a break ... Oh that's right -- that would cost, rather than make, the state revenue. How about subsiding decent rider and driver training? Bah, rant over.
He turned up at the St Kida parking protest on the 21 of Feb by tram. He does not ride anymore. Message him at his IRG group and ask.
