This was such a great ride. I took off from Adelaide and met Tim and GT at Gawler. Followed GT though some nice backroads to pick up Graz.

Wound our way up to Waikerie for some lunch - then (just!) caught the Vic lads over at the O.C and headed on to Burra for the night.

The last maybe 30k's (?) out of Burra was a bit hairy - haven't seen so much road kill on one stretch of road before, some Emu's, mostly Roos. There was even a roo just patiently waiting on the shoulder watching us ride past.

In the morning bikes were all covered in the morning dew - was crisp but still. Rolled out just after 7.30 - I split apart from the rest of the group that were heading to Coober Pedy and went back to the Riverland to have breakfast with the folks (keeping an eye on those bloody roos and emu's watching me from the distance) then back to Adelaide.

Weather was perfect, barely any wind - cold but not freezing.

Great to catch up with some familiar faces and seeing some new ones.

Good to catch up with the boys on their way through SA. Here's a few photos...

1st night at Commercial Hotel Burra.

Loose battery terminals in the middle of nowhere.

Underground at Coober Pedy. My first time there, interesting place.

    ANZAC DAY Dawn Service

Jacks, Graz and myself stayed at Mt Remarkable Hotel Melrose on the way back. Good accomadation and food, would suit an overnighter.

Did about 2,300 kms over 3.5 days, Thanks to all that were there.

Bloody awesome ride. Great to catch up with the regular faces and a couple of new ones. A few beers and a few laughs. This sort of run is what these tourers are made for. Heading home and didn't want to stop. Hope the rest of the boys enjoy the thier trip and we will see them back here in a couple of weeks. Good onya GT for taking the extra couple of days to do Cooper Pedy.

Only lived a bit of the dream. It was bloody hard to turn around and come home after the rest of the boys were heading north. GT and I discussed tagging along to Ayres Rock before coming home but just too many things calling me home. Have been following Mickle and China on facebook. They are putting in 800-900km most days and are in Darwin at the moment with Chriso,Kiwi and Gnu. Bit bloody envious.sad
