Not a lady rider but if you can handle all of your previous bikes, then you'll love the SG.

    Mon
I test rode a street glide but bought a road glide. Both handle better than the fatboy. They Street and road glides only feel heavier when your walking/pushing them like out of the garage

Mon ,, buy what you want and comfortable with ,,, The Street Glide is a great bike.. You have had a few bikes so you should'nt have any trouble handling a Street Glide.. But do yourself a favor, and check out a late model Switchback ... There out there, low kms,, modded up with bling, at good prices... Not every ones cup of tea, but well worth a look ....

Pity the ladies are'nt very active on the forum to give you a female perspective on the touring type models ....

Mon, I went from a Sporty to a 99 Glide Standard without any problems at all. The only difference with the fairing was it kept the weather off me. I now have an 08 SG and don't notice the fairing weighing the front down at all. I don't find it difficult to move in the garage or at slow speed. On the highway or metro roads it is just like any other bike, taking into account the characteristics of a Tourer.

    I haven't ridden a Fatboy, so I can't compare.

It all depends on what sort of riding you want to do, how you ride and how you want to trick up the bike.

It can be a sedate ride or you can throw it around as I've seen other SG owners do.

    Buy what you want.

My wife does ride my Street Glide, but prefers her Wide Glide as she hates the fairing.

    Mon ....
I was a wee apprehensive, before my first ride on a HD because of the forward foot controls.
Being 'nervous' is a good thing, so long as it doesn't interfere with your decision making; it helps to focus one's attention!

Good on ya Mon. Like Pauly said. Plenty of options. Reach bars come back 2 inches and plenty of seats that are lower and narrower at the front.  I am no shorty but Iam looking at different bars and have a Sundowner seat that is lower and a bit narrower at the front. If you really like the streety make it your own.

Good onya Mon. Always a guessing game. I wouldn't think they would change too much. Maybe some better colours. But you never know.

Mon_4u2c,, Have you thought about a Low seat or reach seat. Plus you should be able to get IKON rear shocks, made the length you want, Plus they are Progresive rated. Made in Albury.

    Congrats again Mon.

One tip would be to get the rear crash bars fitted like the rest of the touring range. If you do have a drop when parking or stopped the bike will just sit  on the bars and not damage your panniers. Hopefully it never happens but it will also be easier to pick up. Actually saw it happen yesterday.(no names but)
