Im new to the forum and hope I'm not asking for info on an old subject. I have bought a set of shotgun shocks for my Fatboty s and will probably have them fitted this week. I was advised yesterday that one should set the ride height and adjust belt accordingly and not alter ride height thereafter unless belt  is readjusted otherwise the belt will be stretched or damaged. This info was relayed to me by a dealer so I take heed.

I have searched the forum for something related to this but cannot find info. Can anyone advise if the above is correct.

The best person to ask about Shotgun is JD himself. There is nothing he doesn't know about his product , and goes to great lengths to ensure his customer service is the best going around. Email him, you will be guaranteed a prompt, honest reply. I have never dealt with anyone better! Dealers will never promote anything that's not HD, and half the time don't know what fits their own models.

I got this message today from Jessica at Sotgun shocks in reply to my query above.

    "Neverheard that before!

Adjust the belt to factory specs at the half-way point of swingarm travel.

We have been installing these for over 13 years and never heard of anyone having a problem."

So it looks like a non issue. Thanks Winger.

Like I said, You'll not find better customer support. Worth asking the question, though. Enjoy the shotgun!

Got my bike back last week after having the new shocks fitted. I spent hours experimenting trying to achieve a setup I liked but to no avail .

I will try again this coming weekend. I think I have read every forum article in the world on shotgun shock setups so hopefully I get it right. LOL
