Gday spanner heads, my 01 fatty with 98000 ks is developing a squeal eminating from the rear wheel,my guess is  the bearing , any other possibilties? Is there a home made way to remove it ? Cheers

Yes you can get them out if you have access to a welder cover wheel up ,weld a old bolt across bearing and knock out going through from other side , don't use Harley bearings go to a bearing shop heaps cheaper and will be
A better bearing , you should be running 3/4 bearings, I can't remember the part number if use the search function it should be in one of the threads

When my bearings shat emselves there was no sqealing before hand just a sudden feeling you were riding on a bumpy road.......but there were no bumps. That was after 40K Ks. If yours has done 98000ks then I would be changing them even if that is not what is squealing.

Also, that was really good advice from perthhog before about removing them with a welder.

Exact same symptom I had for my rear bearing on my Evo... Change it ASAP before it does any damage or siezes! and good idea...do the front as well...they are only $25 for a set after all.

On my newer Sporty my rear belt will squeal when its cold for the first 1km when i decelerate; quiet as a mouse once warm though.
