Wondering what sort of horsepower and torque people are getting out of their 103 cubic inch motors with the balancer in them?.eg  the soft tail ones.

Had mine dyno tuned  the other day and was a bit non plussed with the figures considering it has a stage 4 kit.

Before tune the figures were Max power=94.70 Max torque 96.12

After tune                               Max power=103.63 Max torque 105.61

I have a so called stage 4, I have 117hp, 111 torque. Those figures you have is what I had until I put the standard header pipes back on with S&S turbo slip ons. Motor was 96ci taken to a 103ci. Then had it tuned by a Man who is well known in South Australia.

Fc, is yours the genuine Se stage 4 kit? Who tuned it, where and what exhaust?

Odin's.doesnt.appear to be genuine Se stage.4 kit.as his signature block suggests he's.used.s&s parts.and.i doubt the heads he had work on by Mark hood are se heads.

thats correct fatbat. No SE Heads, plus 52mm TB. I did get rid of my V&H Pro Pipe and went to standard header pipes & S&S slip ons for better results and this came from the people that did my head work & tuning. I used Wiseco pistons 10.5:1and a 625 cam

Far Canal, in my opinion that exhaust you are using would be killing it, some may disagree of course, but as you probably know and so do most an exhaust can make or break performance

My 2007 fatboy had s&s 107 top end, comp was around 10.4, s&s 585 cams, stock heads, stock throttlebody, se heavy Breather and TTS tuner. Used the supertrapp supermeg 2-1 exhaust which was the turner's preferred exhaust. Made around 100hp and 110flp of torque. After a proper tune it was really well mannered to ride too.

With the 103 Fatbob I'm running I had a budget of 5k for a Stage2 upgrade and suspension which isn't a lot for performance and suspension upgrades. Remapped and dyno I come in at 93.7H/P and 107. something Torque. The Freedom dual pipes loss some H/P and a 2into1 Fatcat system would increase my H/P figure. Still when you consider the cost of a Stage3 or 4 it's pretty good bang for buck. I read in Heavy Duty you could change the front sprocket from a 32 tooth to a 30 tooth to increase Torque and found that to be really good upgrade. It did increase my budget and some bikes my need to change there belt.

I reckon you about right far canal for softail, be good to see curves

Readings between dyno's can vary up to 10%, with things like tyre pressure, humidity, temp and pressure playing a part, the correction factor and gear it was run can also alter readout

Mine is stock....144HP and around 80ft Oh its a 15K jappa!

Got a Harley too but why spend thousands chasing HP they are cruisers. If you want to go fast get a sports bike.

Dunno if there'd even be much difference in performance between the a and b engines. Lots of people getting lots of performance out of b engines. Chriso's softball is an example of that. Although it runs a 120r it's getting better performance out of it than most 120r a engines. Dunno if those chains balancing out the vibrations slow things down...someone smarter than me will know

Dynos can vary from place to place. If you're happy with how it runs, don't worry about the dyno numbers. If you're not happy with performance or the manners with which it rides, speak to the tuner and express your concerns. Dealerships should see a few stage 4 kits and although engines vary from one to another, the stage 4 kit is essentially the same so variance may be your engine, the tune or other parts like the exhaust. Tuners usually know from experience which combinations work better than others.

There is very little difference in the A and B motors. The Big Radius 2 into one will knock some off after 4800rpm. A 103 stage 4 straight from a Harley shop with a decent exhaust will go over 110 easy. Even a bagger with the LOOONG V&H touring system will do 114 or so. I would say the exhaust is most of it. Does it run well under 4500rpm, snappy , responsive?

I deleted it because I won't be there, I'm sure plenty of the others would be happy to be shown just how fast the Harley with a stage 4 kit is. Come on down, it's $80 for the weekend camping, lots of rides, entertainment etc.

    Where are you based Paulbronco?

yeah well im only a couple hrs away but have no interest in going to a show full of wannabe mick doohans talking about how much of a better rider they are then each other... with there 200hp+ bikes that only get ridin fast in a straight line cause most cant ride for shit.
Undercover you might own a harley but your not a harley person so to speak.

You might be better off back over on your kumansuckme or yamahahahahaha forum bud

I don't see it mentioned here what stage 4 kit was fitted ?

There have been several stage 4 kits, the older "pro race" kit with big valve 110 style heads and SE260 cams, and the newer stg4 kits that have the CNC ported stock heads with the SE-259,( listed in street and race versions ?).
