I put this in and a world of difference. n clunk on startup, quieter. just a bit of a pin to fit, as it was tight as on mine...But no more slapping of the chain on the top of the primary case bolt housings.

I'm also happy with the Hayden tensioner,,,but,,

that bloke on the video is sure do'n it the hard way, and

risks fouling the springs, leading t failure.

I put 1 in about 7000km ago when rebuilding my 6 speed, the auto tensioner had already let the chain rub on the primary case top an bottom.
I never had the clunk on start up or banging into gears before the hayden tensioner and still dont.
Remove the compensator bolt and loctite and tension it up if you pull the cover to do the hayden conversion.
    Mine was loose.

All I know is , in 2002 i put a Hayden tentioner on my 2001 Dyna TC & it has done over 100,000k been drag raced from queensland to Victoria & was ridden to the tracks interstate & back , at one point i had the flywheels slip on the press fit crank pin ( new crank , spot weld the pin, L A Cycle's Sydney ) sold the bike to a friend & to this day that Hayden tentioner & the primary chain both working fine & have never needed replacing.
