kuryakyn iSO grip throttle sticking

Ive just gone to put on the Kuryakyn grips on my softail. Did the throttle first. No issues getting it on, though when I gave the throttle a bit of a twist.... It didnt come back... just stuck there.

I made adjustments to the throttle and idle cables, no change.

Undid it all and took it off, notices the grip is a little too snug on the bar.

Anyone else phone this problem and what did you do (beside throw spanners around the garage cause you new grips dont fit)

    Cheers

Try some graphite powder under the grip for lubrication. Also, check to make sure your throttle lock screw is loose (that lugged star shaped plastic screw head just next to the throttle cable entry point into the control housing)

Checking the throttle screw as berserker suggested would be where I would start. From there all I can recommend is ensure everything is in place and where it's meant to be, sounds like there may be an issue with the throttle cable snagging in the grip/assembly.
FYI I use these exact same grips and have never had an issue of any sort.

I have had Kuryakyn ISO grips on my FXST for past 5 years, Never had any drama, or sticking of throttle, even from New when I fitted them, I still have stock bars.

Removed post.  I just repeated what beserker said.  That damn shoe that locks the throttle would be my best guess.  It can move (inside the throttle body) or even fall out while you're pissing around in there with the cables.

    And the fix was?

Yeah it looks like an anomaly in the the grip. When sliding it on, with out the cables or housing it's tight and rubbing on the bar

I might have to file it open a little to give it more room

What about some vasoline or silicone spray. But I would not file much. Maybe just some fine sand paper.

Do you by any chance have powder coated bars? Sometimes the coating is a little bit thicker than the standard bars. The fix for this is to lightly sand it back. Hope it goes well.

    No, chrome bars....

Ive tried it some beach bars I have lying around and they seem fine on there, so I guess its the bars that are the issues though having sdaid that the standard grip is wotking with no problem.

I'll give a it a bit of a sand and silicone spray and see how it goes.

    thansk all
