Finally got the rear ones fitted to match the front today. As I had read on this forum a few folk saying the Heavy Duty ones were like a rock and most uncomfortable, I kind of had it in my mind that the standard ones would be the go. However the bloke from Rollies convinced me to go for the Heavy Duty ones. Saying that they might be a bit hard at first but they will loosen up in time.
As they say "the proof is in the pudding" and after a test ride of a mere 30klm with 6klm of that on the bumpiset bit of bitumen imaginable, the rest on mountain corners. I was expecting to come home with my backbone sticking through my skin.
But I didn't, the shocks seemed really good. They were set a whisker above the softest setting. All in all it was a noticeable instant improvement.
I am about 90 kilos and dont often ride 2 up. Plus I have a Le pera King Cobra seat which is minimal in the padding department.
So I am happy that I went for the heavy duty ones.
Keep that in mind if you had read the posts about the heavy duties being too hard.
Yes I remember you did too Mickle. You do have a big tourer though as well as being heftier than me.And did you have a chickie on the back as well in that terrific "riding through the bridge" shot some photographer took?
Guess the point I was trying to make was that the shocks are not actually rock hard and intollerable, if you are not a featherweight anyway.
