Went to wash my bike this morning, I haven't washed it in a while and thought bugger it.  I went on a run with the SA mob last weekend for an overnighter and it has just sat in the garage all week.  So put it on the lift in the driveway.  Take off the seats and saddle bags.  No worries and sitting ther looking at the left hand side and thinking something is different.  Some low fucker has taken my Chrome upper belt guard.  Nuts and bolts etc.  Whether it happened last weekend I don't know coz the guard is overed by the bag and you wouldn't know until you took off the bag. And I haven't had the bags off since I replaced the back tirelate last year.   So up for a upper belt guard and bolts to suit.  Fuck em I hope it fucks up their bike if they took it for that.  But wondering if it was one of those wedding guests that wew around last weekend.

    Rant over.

So could it be that the guard was never replaced when the tyre was replaced and you didn't notice?

    Just an observation......

Those belt guards would be difficult to steal if the pannier bag is mounted to the bike and the lid is locked. A lot of stuffing around, needing tools and lying on the ground to unbutton it...

    been there done that.
1 I take my own wheel off to take to the garage.
I am old but not yet senile. I have had a look through the garage. I thought that it was me in the first instance.
At then end of the day it leaves a bad taste in the mouth

A lot more juicy targets for theft last weekend than that I would of thought mate? No chance of it falling off? Those roads shattered my teeth they were so rough.

No matter how you lost it, that sucks. If it was some grub, I hope karma catches up with them on a cold, wet night.

Perhaps this could be a good opportunity for a new aftermarket guard - I sourced a black RSD for mine and I reckon it looks tops. Cheers.
