Wonder why it is called a "Low Rider"?

Could it be the midrange  footpeg position?.......

Could it be the ground clearance? I doubt it looking at the pics.

Maybe the seat height is really low despite the above, just does not look it.

I woulda thought if there was a model called a "low rider" then you would be riding it with your arse very close to the road......low rider.

Twin disc front end is a big bonus, HD should do the right thing and do that on all the models.

I predict this will be Harley's biggest seller here in Australia unless they bring this engine out in the rest of the Dyna range.

I would buy this in an eye blink. Best model Harley has put out in a while I reckon.

Have read: the moniker of 'Low Rider' is a bit misleading.

What are the specs LoftyBob ?

( am a lazy arse and struggle to do the necessary legwork; am reasonably confident ( given you have signed on for one ) that you may know ... )

The 110 dresser motor has water cooled heads, I think you could put an oil cooler that looked same as the first shovel low rider make that a radiator then only need water pump & coolant res . But I would say in two years when they all get 110 they will have water cooled heads

I took the plunge and bought this bike stock as I wanted time to think about accessories like seat/saddle, sissy bars, saddle bags, rear pegs, pipes and forward controls.

I wanted to ride it for a while to see if the stock setup is satisfactory.

The stock pipes sound shit but I like the look of them so first thing I need is a set of slip-ons that look identical to stock bit sound good. I also need to find out if it's possible to beat the EPA as - unlike my former V-Rod - this Low Rider S will probably attract Swine like flies on...

Any other accessories will need to be removable. This gear would be to accommodate weekends away and for occasionally carting the misses around.

I've been looking at Roland Sands saddles and so forth as I did not want to limit myself to just the Harley range when I was at the dealership buying the bike. This is also why I bought it stock.

Any tips from people who were once in my position would be appreciated. I'll remember you in my will.

    Thank you.

We bought one for the wife when I got my slim s. All we have changed is the exhaust, which got changed to a V&H Super radius (the bigger out of the big radius and super radius, not sure which one's which tbh).

She did toy with the idea of a new seat, but seems ok with the stock seat. So far it's been hard getting any feedback as to what she'd change - because she felt guilty as shit getting the bike. No doubt changes will occur as they need to tho.

The 103 HO motor beats the 110 of the mark......easily.

If Harley are going to a new motor design (not just a capacity increase like the 110) then getting rid of excess stocks of 110 donks in some 'limited edition' models would make sense.

But if the main stream big twins are going to a 107 4 valve then I wonder what they'd do for the CVO range?

Maybe a high output version? Maybe they've already got a larger version of the 107 planned?

Interesting time to be thinking of updating... there might be some deals around on 2016 touring range bikes in 2017 :)

I am not sure the effort of boring the cases is worth it for three cubes over a 107 or buying a drop in 110 kit. The pistons are too low in compression to be worth the worry.

Mine will stay in the box with all the other unused HD bits unless the 117 proves to be a bad thing in the long run.

    Cheers,
    Surly
