Putting the bike back together after a top end build. Have a plug on the throttle body that does not plug into anything, I can not remember what the bloody thing is for. It is the red plug in the photo, every thing else is sweet and has been mated. It has me stuffed!

It could be the plug that plugs into your original air cleaner, it operates the flapper on it. If you replaced the AC it is not used.

Cheers mate, that makes sense. I will pull the original out of the box when I get home, I have never seen the OEM one! Have a good one.

Most likely the 'Active air intake" system as described

Only on export model bikes , US bikes don't have it but some models do have the "unused" plug in the wiring harness.

From your photo it appears 'similar" to an O2 sensor wire when viewed from that angle

o2 sensor plug is more squarish with 4 pins. My rear o2 sensor decided to fuck up last week and my Harley dealer had to order one and it won't be here until next week. Couldn't have been the front fucker could it, as he had them in stock. Maybe an omen for me not to ride this weekend. No doubt it's for the air intake.

O2 sensors looked like that until 2011 on Dynas and Tourers and Sportsters

    Until 2010 on Softails

What is this bike and how old is it ?

Auto Decomp? What does it plug into? The auto compression releases coming out of the heads are plugged in (two of them). This thing is on its own with nothing to plug into. I get home this arvo, will have to look at the stock air cleaner as suggested. Cheers.

The ACR's are on the other side of the frame, side by side and mated correctly. Should know when I have a look at the OEM air intake. Fingers crossed.

I always, on any build, label or bag and tag everything! Im doing a build now on a vintage BMW where the owner just ripped, tore and busted his way thru everything. Its caused me a lot of headaches with the antique 6V DC wiring.
