    Hi All

Does anyone know if chopping the rear struts is deemed unroadworthy and you cant get bike insurance if you have done that ?

    Thanks guys

Good question. I do not not the law but would think that so long as it's not structural then you are fine. Mind you some would say that ANY frame mods are illegal - I can see their point of view too.

I reckon it would be deemed a big enough mod to make it unroadworthy cryingno

its quite a common thing people are doing to sportsters , I have seen a few adds recently saying they will get the RWC, I think to myself how would it even pass.

and I hear its deemed illegal so insurance companies would not insure you

Done it to mates bike, passed a pink slip in NSW no problem.

Not sure on Insurance, would be in the PDS I presume.

It's not exactly structural if you know how the guard mounts, the rear bolts do SFA I reckon, only issue I found is the licence plate holder has nothing to screw into, bit of backyard engineering fixed that.

Ignore my post.. The first post only appeared when I replied. It would depend on who you take your bike to for the inspection. I would let it slide but others may not.
