Figuring cable lengths

Ok so I received my new risers and bars for my Wideglide today, biltwell 1-3/4" risers and 8" Chump bars, so total height of roughly 10". Now the stock risers and bars are roughy 8" high but angle down, the chumps angle flat.

By eyeball there's 2" or so difference. Is it as simple as ordering brake lines etc +2" or does it not work that way?

I notice la choppers offer 12-14" ape cable kits with everything, is being a couple of inches longer going to cause a problem (yes yes that's what she said!).

I wus going to do this till I realised my stockies would fit.  At about 2.20 they talk about cables.  And they're using the new bars on the bike to measure of course.

I jammed a rough pic of the bars, I think the throttle cables will be ok, that ABS brake line though... Not sure and the clutch would be a stretch maybe..

guess it depends if you want to stick with hd cables or go to after market options. On the first change i did i only needed to change the brake from memory so i measured the one on my bike to determine the extra length required. I then went into the local dealer and measured front brake lines on various bikes till i found closest to what i needed and ordered that.

would it be worthwhile checking out the street bob for yours?

aftermarket: depends on how much you want to spend. I have magnum shield now which are a bit pricey but good quality. I see you can get them through EasyR. VPW sell aftermarket cables and Walka is always very helpful if you give him a call

Street bob.. Of course! Genius idea..
Local dealer quote for street bob cables and I was mighty surprised at how cheap, $35 for a throttle cable, $60 for a clutch cable.. Not even worth stressing over at those prices!
