G'day guys, do any of you more experienced guys know if the timer covers for evo engines and XL, XR sportsers are the same? I am looking at getting a timer cover from HD #32668-98A, and it is listed for 04'and later XL and XR and earlier models with horizontal holes. I rang HD parts and the bloke said it wouldn't fit, but I seem to remember (now that's a 1st) someone mentioning as long as it has 2 horizontal holes it will fit.

Doc , i know Cone Shovels & Evo cover's same, i sespect the sportster covers are same up to say05 i have not checked lattest but there bottom ends have changed would be easy to measure them up. good luck.

Thanks for the quick replies fella's, I reckon I'll remove the original cover and the plate behind it and take a spin into HD and check it out measurement wise as was suggested.

Ordered the cover, and apart from the supplied screws not fitting, the actual cover fits perfect. Chasing up correct length screws to fit.

Make darn sure you run the correct gasket...There are two types that look identical except for an extra strip internal in one of them.
