I am looking at buying a 2015/2016 Forty Eight (XL1200c).  My only issue is the small fuel tank, 7.9 litres, just wondering what sort of fuel economy should I expect from this bike??????

Those peanut fuel tanks look super kool but are about as practical as a kick in the balls

    Welcome to the Forum.

As mentioned, the tank looks good but in not practical at all unless you just want to buzz around town.

Check out the Sportster section for more comments and threads. There is a search engine top right of the page but it isn't that good.

so that works out about 20km per litre,
    = EMPTY at 160kms
even less if ya giving it a fist full or riding twisty mountain roads

150km if you're lucky. You'll end up replacing the tank with one larger like I did

I'm already tired of 'worrying about' fuel stops with my Dyna.
( this 'touring about' is all brand new to me )
Feel sorry for those with bikes having less capacity to carry fuel.

P.S. My gauges tell me that a full tank will get about 350 Ks.

Yeah, perhaps a salient point Mr. whateveryournameis ...

Have booked my bike in for a stage 1 later this week and am wondering, if the ECU is 'reprogrammed', will the RANGE function be in error ?

It shouldn't be impacted unless you get it done at a McDonald's drive through...

The mechanics who install these things generally know what they are doing. Are you getting it tuned at the same time? I'd imagine after getting a Stage 1 and tune it will impact on the fuelling in some in some way i.e. more or less fuel efficient. Well, that's how it went from my experience. Wait until you go really wild on some nice long twisty bits ... You can watch the fuel gauge move right to left in real time!

    What are you saying ?

Is this HD thing gonna cost me / be expensive ?

Should I seek some turbin wearing sand chick, whose papa owns an oil well ?

Think of it as an investment in making you more interesting to the oil heiress of your dreams...
