Cheers Drac. I see your thinking. With mine being the dreaded 2007 standard compensator and already having noise coming from it I went the Multi Viscosity Racing oil. Its rated for wet clutches as well. Havent noticed any issues with Clunking into first but I probably dont even realise it. Im going to stick with the heavier stuff at least until the comp gives out on me and I replace it.

    Redline MTL for primary
Redline Heavy Shockproof (strawberry thick shake) in the g/box
Only need to change em once a year, or when ya feel like it
I have these oils in all 3 of my Harleys, (Dyna, SGlide and Pan), never had a g/box or primary issue in any of them.
Both twinkles have 70K+ km on them, Dyna has been ridden hard with a decent motor in it, Sglide has done great duty also.
Tried and trusted throughout the racing fraternities world wide for decades. Just saying, 1c worth.
Oils threads are like assholes mostly. ;)
