Superlow fork damper rods

I know that the superlow forks aren't as long as some other sportster models, so was wondering if they are long enough to put the bigger damper rods from the oldman conversion into them?

I have ricor intiminators in the forks which made the world of difference, but would like to raise the front end, so I can put the 13 inch ikon shocks on the rear for more travel and maintain the proper geometry.

Has anyone installed the longer damper rods in their superlow?

Sorry I can't help but if you want to raise your bike why not buy longer fork tubes & fit?

Yeah, that definitely sounds like an option. I wonder if anyone here has done that with their superlow?

I've done the old man conversion on my 2011 superlow I used dyna dampening rods, ikon progressive springs and ricor intimidator valves and it raised the front end about 50mm and put a taller tyre on the rear and no more scrapping in corners if you want part no. let me know. If your in Melb give Andrew at AA Custom cycles a call , very good with advice . Cheers shane

Hi Shane, that sounds exactly like what I want to do. How did you find the handling of the bike after you made the change? That would be great if you have the parts numbers. What size tyre did you put on it? Cheers, Brenton.

I did the same on an iron with ricotta and race tech springs worked well , but now have a nightster and just fitted the progressive cartridge kit , awesome is all I can say , you gain about 30 mm due to not staging as soon as you sit on it have to push it hard now to scrape it , I'd never go back to normal springs and damper rods now

Like animall have a nightster and fitted progressive cartridges (from the states) and also fitted Gazi fully adjustable remote reservoir shocks ($850 from them in Queensland, they build them for your weight and pillion). Chalk and cheese compared with stock, couldn't be happier in the improvement. In my opinion definitely worth the money! Handling and braking first, engine mods next then bling (although having said that did put a tank lift and ignition relocation before the engine mods which are ordered.

Howard . Are the gazi shocks stock length ? I have looked at them but hadn't known any one who had tried them my last sporty had YSS shocks they were shit so changed them out for ohlins very good but too expensive need a half way point as still have stock shocks on rear at moment

Hi Animall, yes stock length. Only two problems with them, first was they were sent through an agency so couldn't be tracked and first set never appeared, couple of phone calls and they built another set and arrived within a week, second was fitting them, have a D&D bobcat and not a lot of room. A mate has Bitubos on his Dyna and loves them, they are priced mid-way between the Gazi and Ohlin. I went the Gazis after reading rave reviews on a load of Triumph sites (here and the states). Good clear instructions for fitting and once the sag is set, rebound and compression are finger adjustable.

Howard do you have any or did you have clearance issues with the bobcat ? It looks low at the rear , I'm scraping the ends of my side shots and need somthing tucked well in or a rad tracker type that sits high

Hi mate see what you mean from the angle of the photo, but no, no problems. With the bike on the side stand the back of the pipe is level with the swing arm (over 30 cm from the deck) and tucks in (which is why with the larger diameter Gazis had a little problem fitting nothing a small washer didn't solve) and the closest part is about 20 cm from the bottom bottom of the front pipe, which is well tucked in. In you have problems grounding you are either Rossi or found down the road. Got the D&Ds from Rollies. Great service, great pipe, but not cheap!
