Hi all, I have read a bit about the Progressive Monotube fork cartidges and am thinking of putting some in the front suspension on my 07 fatboy.  Im after some better behavior re handling etc. and the general consensus seems to be that these cartidges are good stuff.  The rear will follow eventually when I get the cash but for now I will deal with the front.

Conversation has gone a bit quiet about these lately so Im after some recent opinions.  Are they worth doing and if so what are your opinions on the diffrence they made to handling, front end dive etc.

I will do  it at home myself as Im reasonably handy on the tools.  has anyone else fitted them at home, and if so any issues I should be aware of..

    Thanks.

P.S.  Best place to buy em??

Got em in the ultra and better than stock by far. Easy job if you are handy on a spanner.
Did some pics and a write up somewhere. Go back through my posts. I did mine last October.
Well worth it and straightforward on a fatty to do.

I have a 2011 FXST & I put Progresive MonoTube Cartridges in June 2015, before my Lap of the Map. Changed the handling for 100% the better. No more Nose diving when braking hard, No more bouncing around corners when on rough roads.
I already had the Progresive 422's in the rear since August 2011. Which helped a lot and stopped the Wallowing in the rear when cornering. So yes I am Bloody Happy I fitted them.
Rollies in Brisbane are an Importer and will give a great price direct to your door. Also MCAS at Auburn in NSW, But Rollies were cheaper

Well in went the monotubes today and it was a fairly easy task for anyone considering doing it for themselves. Only thing to be very careful of is that pesky little allen head bolt holding the damper tube in up inside the bottom of the forks. I had an impact gun and dont bother trying to get it out without one, you will only round the shallow headed little sucker off. It is 6mm ?? Strange as I dont think there is any other bolt or nut on a HD thats not Imperial. Obviously cause the forks are made by Showa.
The right side as you sit on the bike, is easy as the bracket comes off that enable you to get the axle out, and the allen bolt isnt far up the tube after taking that off. The other side is a bitch as its buried about 50mm uo inside the fork tube. Get yourself a long shanked impact allen key and it will make the job a lot easier.
Anyway after that little drama everything fell into place and the fatty is back together. Went for a short ride as didnt have much time and the initial opinion is good. Grabbed a handful of front brake a number of times and the front didn't dive anywhere near as bad as it used to. Certainly seemed smoother over rough parts of the road but will take it for a bigger ride on some different roads when I get the chance. Seemed to tip into the corners with a better attitude as well.
I reckon the original fish oil that Showa use was still in the forks, it was as black and thin as hell and stunk to high heaven.
More to come when I go for a decent ride. Thanks to all for input about these, Im happy I did it. The rears are next.
