Smart Siren II on 06' Fatboy - won't shut off

    Hello all,

I have a 2006 Fatboy FLSTFI with a Smart Siren II installed. I was woken up in the middle of the night with the alarm going off. I went out to shut it off with the fob and there was no electrical working on the bike. The battery was dead. The bike wouldn't start but the alarm was still ringing. I removed the seat and disconnected the battery and the alarm was still going off. I removed every fuse I could see and it was still sounding. I took the battery out of the bike and the alarm continued to sound for quite some time.  I tried to do some quick investigating online while my neighbours were probably waking up or calling the police because of the noise (3:00 am).  I read about a Maxi-fuse but couldn't locate one on the bike. I'm not even sure if the alarm would be hooked up through this or if the alarm is self-powered. Some posts say they didn't introduce a maxi-fuse until '07.  I'm assuming that when the dealer installed the alarm they put it behind the rear splash guard but I'll be damned if I can find anything. I tried to look under the bike and couldn't see anything.  The alarm eventually stopped after about 30 minutes and hasn't gone off since. Has anyone had something similar happen where an alarm has gone off even when the battery on the bike is dead? If so, how did you shut your alarm off

Yeah bloke. My 06 never had a Main Fuse either. If it did I had no idea where it was.
And I did have a simular issue with mine also. Apparently, I was told and makes sense. Once your battery goes flat or gets under a certain Voltage it will set your alarm off. Sort of like the equilivent to some prick trying to kill the security by disconnecting your battery. Even though you have disconnected your battery. You security system has a small 9 volt back up that will keep it armed. It will drain after a short time.
Isn't a prick how this shit always happens in the dead of morning.

On the old bike I wrapped mine in a towel at two in the morning, then ended up ripping the fucker off and pulling the battery. You could always pull the siren box off and add a hidden switch, just in case it happened again...
