Hi all, would like to get some opinions on options of seats for my 07 fatboy. I currently have the standard factory seat and am considering a change.

I ride country clicks and am wondering are the factory seats are as comfortable as I can get are there better ones out there. would love to hear of

your experiences and solutions if any.

Nice bike man! Nothing beats a Fatty!

I went with the Mustang Sports Tourer. SO much more comfy than the stock seat, and Mustang have a good reputation.

I put a Mustang solo on my 08 FLHT about 7 yrs ago and I still say that it's better than the stock seat, which is the same seat that is on the Ultra of the same year model.  70,000kms later it still looks as new as the day I first put it on.

Tom, I'll continue with the common theme here as I also have a mustang seat on my 07 fatty. IIRC it's a vintage tourer in the two piece version. Not the baddest looking seat, but it's comfy on the longer runs.
    Nice bike bud.

On my 07 Fatty, I tried four seats:

    1) Factory - didn't give it much of a go as I hated the look of it with studs, large mounting bracket when solo seat fitted etc
    2) Lepara bare bones - looked good but like sitting on a brick (even with the gel version) so I sold it after little use.
    3) Mustang sport tourer (same as Mongrel's) - looks good and comfy for a few hours but I got a numb/sore arse on long and back-to-back touring days. Kept this for day-day riding.
    4) Mustang wide vintage tourer (prob same as Bucky's) - comfy as but not the best looking seat. Used this for touring.

Harley make some comfy seats too like the Sundowner - another ugly but comfy seat. I reckon the most comfy seats are usually the ugliest and the best looking are usually the least comfortable.

Rider back rests are ugly but for touring, comfort and fatigue they are great (and can easily be removed). The Mustang rider backrest system is much better than the Harley version so if this is a consideration, you should try a Mustang. They pop up for Softails second hand on ebay and gumtree from time to time too.....

I tried 2 seats on the deuce. Best investment was an AirhawkR inflatable seat pad. I use it for longer rides over 300ks, or trips. Amazing how it takes the bumps out and smooths the ride. Easy on and off,
