Bought a set of V & H pro-pipes off Odin awhile ago, and a nice bloke named Davutch dropped them to before Xmas.

Thought i'd fit them on the 24th, and go for a quick ride to see what they sound like etc etc.

V & H big shots came off, with one SMALL problem, one nut had been cross threaded on one of the studs.

No worries, rang a mate who had a spare stud and nut, also a Stud re-moval socket.

tried to remove the stud.....and BANG the stud snaps off, AND the socket internals shatter, FCK !

Tried carefully to drill out the broken stud, but when i ran the tap down the hole noticed i'd drilled it a little off centre.

Heli-coil time.

BUT nothing is open for the next 5 or so days.

Fck............................

Third time I've heard of Helicoil in the last few days. So what is it? Something that fills holes for re-drilling? They could have made a fortune off me over the years.

And while we're at it, wtf is penetrine?

Can someone post a photo of an FCKN, I've looked on the Harley site and can't find one.

new stud drops in about 5mm, and the thread form is too badly damaged ( hard to see on the photo ).

I'll have to machine up ( at work ) a new craddle for the stud remover tool.

No worries Odin, pipes look like nearly brand new.

Ralph, you'd be spewing about that happening, especially the beaut riding weather we've had these last few days. I went for a ride yesterday over to Walleroo to catch up with some friends. Awesome day for riding.

But got back from Hardwicke Bay today, after 4 nights.

Anyway, fitted the Time Sert etc.... but this dumb fck forgot to buy new exhaust gaskets.

Get them tomorrow.

there would some fuked up piss poor excuse from them, try getting next day to SA biggest town outside Adelaide, hell would freeze over 1st before that happens

express post packet arrived on Mon after 7 days.

Happy with the kit, worked well.

pick up a couple of exhaust gaskets today and finish off the job.

finally all sorted.

happy with the results.

noticable gains in both HP and TQ compared to the Big Shots.

Give it to Lushy for a tune, and it should be sweet.....
