First major ride for me on the street bob from Adelaide to the Riverland (to spend some time with family over the Christmas break) went well. The ride in total took around 2.5 hours.
I wanted to test out how sore (or not sore) I would be by riding straight through without any stop-overs and can report that I had no back pain or ass numbness.
My bike has ape hangers, so riding 110km spread out like a kite was a new experience for me. At points, when i hit some head wind, I litterally felt like if I my hands were to slip from the grips that i'd just be blasted back up into the sky - such was the force. I'm going to investigate further into bikini fairings/headlamp fairings to see if that will help mitigate the blast (if anyone has any first hand experience with these types of fairings, I would love to hear them).
I'll aim to do some local trips each day now that I'm here. Plenty of nice country roads to explore and the weather over the next few days will be perfect.
Finally some friendlier riding weather for a change. How far did you go before heading back to Adelaide. Hope to see you on a forum ride soon.
