So my 2016 Fatboy is still to new for me to want to mess with exhaust, tune etc.. but I do want to put saddle bags on it so I can travel.

Turns out the genuine Fatboy accessory saddle bags dont fit on the genuine fat boy.   WTF ?

Something to do with the exhause flap they tell me.. The docking bracket wont fit.

Has anyone been here.. Any tips?

Later I will want to mess with exhaust and tune, but not before the first service and not till she's run in.

Anyone fitted bags to a 09+ fatty?  I think they all had the same exhaust flap thing.

Hi Phil, I have a 09 Fatty with bags. Cant see why the flap would be an issue. The bags come level with the rear foot pegs and the flap is much further forward. I could be wrong. see picture below

I think what I'll need to do is buy all the stuff, then see what the problem is (if there really is one)

I may need to modify the bracket maybe, or worst case, mess with the exhaust..

Picked up the bags today.. Looks like its gonna be OK..

I had to elongate a bracket hole a little near the exhaust flap, other than that, everything looks to be just fine.

Ill finish it tomorrow and throw a pic up.

Don't mean to be a killjoy here but those bags look like they snuggle up pretty close to your exhaust pipe. Perhaps it is just the picture. Wouldn't want ya bags gettin burnt.
