2008 Fat boy questions

    Hi All,

Been looking for a while at fat bobs but the right one at the right price hasn't shown up yet.

However a 2008 fat boy has just been put up for sale close to where I live. Any advice about this year, or fat boys in general would be appreciated. Any problems to look for - is this a year/model to avoid? I know there is less clearance compared to a fat bob, and I read in reviews that the handling is apparently worse. I plan to be test riding it in the next day or so.

    Thanks

    Aron

2008 fatboy is a good model and second year after a lot of changes were made from 2007 onwards so that's always a positive. Won't handle as well as a fatbob, not as much clearance, heavier and single disc front brake compared to twin disc on a fatbob but a really comfy solid cruiser and unless you ride hard the fatboy will still.handle well. I had a 2007 fatboy.

Tried to edit the above post but no text box appears with my new phone.
I was just gonna suggest buying what you want and not settling. The right bike will come along at the right price and it's def a buyers market. Lots of bikes advertised for too much and been for sale for ages. Nothing.wrong with offering a lower price with cash.

Thanks for the info and advice fatbat.

The bike I want to buy/ride at the moment is a 12/13 fatbob. I like a 'dark' look with little to no chrome.

The dark fatbob lo looks great - to me anyway.

I am in country NSW and find it hard to buy/negotiate on a bike without being able to see it in the flesh! Most dealers I have found won't budge much on the price (at less not enough for me!).

    thanks again

    Do some more research mate...
Hell of a big difference between the fatbob and fatboy, chalk and cheese actually.
Fatboy will be a pig compared to the bob if it's handling your after
