Riding Glasses (Wiley X)

There are a couple of old posts on Wiley X riding glasses but I thought I'd add in my recent experience with these.

I bought mine just yesterday (WXHDECH02) for $AU126 in Adelaide and must say that are awesome. The foam seal around the frame is low profile so it doesn't feel or look like i'm wearing goggles (which they are not, they're glasses).

Also, very impressed how effective it works by keeping the wind out from my eyes, keeping them from watering.

Highly recommend it - worth every dollar.

Thinking the frames would be a gimmick or not work as effectively as they do, I chose not to spend the extra $50-odd bucks on the transitional ones (where the lense darkens in bright ambiant light and goes clear in low-light/night). Now that I know how well they work, i wished I had paid the extra coin and gone for them.

I was always told the Photochromic lenses (auto light/darkening) don't last more than a few years (not sure how true that is) and they are never anywhere near as "dark" as normal lenses.

    YMMV.

$126, is a lot of $$$$ to lay out.
They'd fckn want to work, comfy etc etc
I went into Bikeworks today to look/buy some, but they don't have them.
    HH roady, or somewhere else?

Yeah got em from HH in the city. They had some cheaper brand there but I didn't like em. Too bulky and the seal didn't feel as good.

Thanks for the write-up Roady. I've been meaning to check these out (they look tip-top on paper).

I was going to get a pair of these but decided to go with the Daisy glasses instead, very similar product but half the price. Haven't really used them yet but they come with 4 inter changeable lenses as well.

Cool Iron, let us know how you go with them. I did try them as well, but I found that the Wiley's provided a better seal for my face which is why I went with them. Not sure if the Daisy's do, but the Wiley's come with an elastic strap that kind of converts them into goggles. Tried that yesterday on the highway and liked it even more.
