here we go, the forum will bend for the minority, after all that is said and done
they come in and want to take over
why cant they just go with the Aussie way, no we have to change
There only a fanny hair out of the Classic section....
I am biased because I own a 1992 FXR! I also still have the notes about the difference between an FXR and Dyna in my phone (notes section!), as I bought it 6 years ago, so I can cut and paste a bit to ask: Are we really talking the same thing at all, FXR to Dyna? Give it its own section! Everyone of course knows that the FXR handles better, as it was designed to have a higher seat position, greater lean angle, and stiffer frame. Everyone also knows the Dyna frame was cheaper to produce and so replaced the FXR.
Less well know are some of the build-related differences that just make FXR to Dyna like apples to oranges. Top of the list has to be that instead of heavy castings, the FXR frame has a lot of hand-welded stamped-steel parts. That triangular central frame design, which for aesthetic reasons they hid behind chrome guards, signals the frame incorporates superior geometry (triangles are super strong structurally!).
It's no coincidence an FXR out-performs a Dyna. The FXR has a full frame, versus the Dyna which uses the transmission to make up part of its framework. The FXR frame is stiffer, with better lean angles, lower centre of gravity and neutral balance. The FXR runs three rubber engine mounts linked to the frame so that it's like it's running on rails, versus the Dyna two rubber motor mounts allowing for sideways movement of the engine. The FXR swing arm is mounted on the rear of the gearbox with two stabilizer units, versus the Dyna swing arm 'floating' and connecting at the transmission case not the frame (and with one stabilizer), giving you the flex and wallow of the Dyna.
who cares about FXR's next they will be asking for a forum page on Harley Toppers
See there ya go ,, Fucking minorities coming in and demanding a change Dynas not good enough for them , they want there own section now , Telling ya , give them another year or so and they will be demanding we all chip in and pay for there forum t shirts ..
