Pick up the new SG tomorrow so need to sort insurance. Have been offered HD Insurance that has 3yr new bike replacement including mods etc. Currently with Insure My Ride who have quoted me about $200 less per year than HD including mods, riding gear and valuables.. Have been happy with IMR with one claim I had and their premium. Any feedback on HD inusrance?

I was offered Harley Insurance (which is underwritten by Swann) when I bought my new Wide Glide... Premium of $676.00 per year.
3 year new bike replacement... to the value of $28,500 (which was heaps more than I paid) Basic Excess of $400, and all mods covered.
Rang around all the other major insurers and they couldn't get close!

I had insurance on my 84 Harley with mods at $15000 agreed value with IMR until they decided to drop the value to $8500 for the same premium.
    Left and went with QBE.

All good. Went with the HD insurance. Once I sat down and sorted it with rating 1 etc etc it was only about $120 a year more than my old premium with IMR. First quote was about $250 a year more. Similar cover for bike gear, valuables etc + 3 year brand new replacement including any mods as long as they are recorded. Well worth it for the replacement part of it. Thanks for the feedback.

I took up HD (Swann) insurance when I got my bike in 2012, they were cheaper than the alternatives and offered new for old (for a while).

They're not as much cheaper as they used to be and I don't get new for old any more but I see no real reason to change as long as they're at least competitive.

My new bike is with Swann and my old sporty was with Swann as well, had no issues or claims yet, price was a little bit more than some of the others getting around but decided to stick with something Swann again.
