Hey all newboy here and have purchased my first HD a 2007 XL1200 Custom sportster.

Pick it up in a couple days once the bank get off their ass and do the paperwork.

Lookforward to trawling the posts to gain info from you guys and maybe get a few second hand bits from the sales page to upgrade my sportster.

If anyone is interested the bike is coming with a Heritage front screen and roll bars with HD covers to protect from the weather. I will be advertising them for sale as soon as i get them off to fund my first purchase.

Anyone got any idea what they are worth, or anyone got any bits they want to trade for them and by the way in Adelaide so post might be a little too hard.

    See you around!

    Ben

    Welcome to the Forum!

Until you you have ridden the Sporty for a while and then decided what sort of riding you want to do, I would hang off selling the stuff.

The bike is obviously set up for touring, hence the screen etc. The Adelaide blokes do a lot of riding and touring so the complete setup will come in very handy. It will save you looking like a windsock and protect your lower legs from water and cold wind. That is a blessing when needed. Highway pegs will be an asset to let you stretch out your legs so keep the crash bars.

Having said all of that, you may already have your ideas of what you want, but the previous owner has put plenty of dollars into making a tourer when needed and not just a metro bike.

    All the best.

Thanks for the advise man, yeah the previous owner lived up in the hills and he said it gets cold up there.

Maybe i will just take the parts off for now and see what i do with them, yeah i already have some ideas but nothing too silly. It already has a screaming eagle stage 1 pack so thinking of changing they style of the air box around to a screaming eagle billet style one justt for looks really.
    Cheers Ben

Welcome, as Krackers has suggested, till you get the style of the bike and riding hang off dumping the extra's. Enjoy your new ride.
